Hot! Hot! Hot!

This weather has taken its toll on music classes...especially the Kindergarten and First Grade classes! We hope it will cool down soon and we can get back to music fun in the afternoon! Students in all the grade levels will be having fun with many of the new instruments purchased this summer! Thanks to Mrs. Meehan's help, we are working on improving our stock of percussion instruments at Irving. Many are worn and tattered and are needing replacing. We have a good start on this process!

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! It is sure to be a great year. I am so lucky to be starting my second year as music teacher. Your children are so talented and were so welcoming to me! Thank you to everyone who helped to make our first year a great success. Now, onto new adventures this year!

We have an exciting year ahead of us. Here are some performance dates already set:
                5^th grade Arts Trek @ Five Flags: Friday, September 20 – 9:30 a.m.

·                                   1^st Grade Fall Performance:  Thursday, October 17 @ 12:00 p.m.

·                       4-5 Holiday Concert- Thursday, December 12 @ 6:00 p.m. (this performance includes                                                                                                                                            4/5 choir)
